Poas Lodge Alajuela Reviews
Quiet relaxing lodge Aug 15, 2012
When you're out in the front and even in the lobby you will probably think to yourself that this is not what you expected at all. As you descent down the steps and to the area where the rooms are you will still think that but in a different way. These rooms were clean, large, had a hd tv, coffee maker, nice bathroom, and a view that can kill.
The lodge is actually on a slope and because the air is so clean and clear you are able to see all the way down the valley. In the afternoon as the clouds move in you are able to open the window and let the clouds come rushing through your window into the room. It's soo serene.
The host were awesome! Both are South African guys I believe and along with their cat and sheperd mix they make an awesome team. The served as both host, server, cook, and guide if need be. The food was fresh and oooked right then and there. At night they lit the fireplace, gave us blankes so that we would be able to relax by the fire. They even let us eat with the blankets!! Added bonus is that if there are any storms in the area you are able to relax while watching the lighting flash across the sky. Did I mention their is a hummingbird garden in the backyard??
I highly recommend this place if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of majors cities. No street lights, no car noise, just you and nature.
