Cheap and Supremely Clean by Paris Hostel Standards! Aug 13, 2011
With its incredible appeal to tourist, Paris is a city that all too easily gets away with cutting corners in hospitality. This means for most part, we’ll pay quite a bit more for less. The trick is finding the place where you feel the “least screwed” when you get the bill. For me, Plug-Inn ranks high on the list of “Good by Paris Standards.”

It is in cleanliness and safety that Plug-Inn scores massive points. The hostel has a controlled entrance during off hours and the rooms were recently remolded. Perhaps it is because it is new or more likely because it is well kept, but either way you feel almost spoiled by the cleanliness when compared with most hostels rugged lived in appearance. The cleanliness coupled with the fact the rooms have their own bathrooms and phones, you feel almost like your in a hotel. Aside from that, the rooms are pretty standard for a hostel, which is to say crowded and a touch uncomfortable. That is why they are cheap.

As for location, the hostel isn’t very close to a subway station. While there is plenty to see nearby, I would consider it well off the primary tourist trails in Paris. This can be a good thing, especially for you are trying to see many of the amazing sites that people often overlook in Paris.

For me, the atmosphere felt very somber, almost like a library. This can be a very good thing or a bad thing, depending on preference. People in the public areas are probably just checking e-mail and conversation is encouraged to take place elsewhere. The exception is breakfast, which is quite good. Because the breakfast area is fairly small, people are forced to sit in tight quarters and this makes breaking the ice and having a conversation easy. If you are alone, you can probably easily find someone else with an itinerary like yours to sight see with.

All and all, I prefer a more lively hostel but if the most important part of your night is a clean shower and a safe night of sleep, you’ll be hard pressed to beat Plug-Inn for the price!

Clean, Stylish, Very reasonable Apr 24, 2011
Very rare find in Paris. It's a little gem. Easy to get around from here, lots of shops and you are in Montmartre... Not a party hostel, (thank goodness) more fore mature travelers and families. Definitely better looking and cleaner than most hotels in Paris.

Clean!! Mar 23, 2011
I stayed at Plug-Inn for 5 nights in a room that had 4 beds. It is extremely clean, they clean daily like in a hotel. The room has its own phone, so family can call you. Free internet downstairs. The room had its own bathroom and toilet. 2 minutes walk from Moulin Rouge and from the train, thus very good location. Free breakfast.

I highly recommend it!

Average quality/money relation Jan 15, 2011
The bed was not nice cause it would shake whenever you move, also there was no ladder to get to the top bed and could be tricky getting there.

Location is ok if you dont walk around at night, its near the Moulin Rouge and the sex business places.

Great small hostel in Montmartre Feb 21, 2011
The only "Boutique Hostel" in Paris, that's what it says on their website and it's a great way to describe it.

At first glance, you don't know if you are at a small language institute or a small inn. But then you understand that's a small hostel. And by small, I mean: tiny elevator, tiny (but private) shower, tiny stairs, etc. But everything is thought to be comfortable and cozy.

The staff is great, good breakfast, well-equipped kitchen, free internet, perfect location.

There are no lockers or safe but you can leave your stuff at the reception.

A few minutes away from Gare Du Nord.

Great time in Paris Mar 16, 2010
There reception staff were weird occasionally when we asked them if they had any more rooms available. They said they could only tell us in the morning which just seemed like a way to keep us here so we couldn't book elsewhere. I didn't really like that dishonesty.

However this hostel is very good value for Paris one of the most expensive places to visit in Europe. Plug-Inn is in Montmartré which is near the Moulin Rouge, several metros are close by and it's just a great area in Paris!

Also the breakfast is really nice and the kitchen staff were really sweet.

I recommend staying here!
