Enjoyable visit of this famous architect's house Jul 18, 2016
Joze Plecnik is the architect of a lot of famous buildings and bridges in Ljubljana. While visiting the city center you probably came across several of them such as the Triple Bridge, the National and University Library, the Colonnades next to the Central Market or the Cobbler's Bidge. If you liked those and want to know more about the architct, who shaped the look of this Capital so much, you should definitely visit the Plecnik House.

I quite enjoyed my visit of the house, which was also designed by Plecnik himself. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the visit quite enjoyable. He also encouraged us to ask as many questions as we wanted. Now I know a lot more about this creative architect than I did before.

The tours take an hour and leave on the hour in front of the reception area. So, it's probably best to be a little early to make sure you get on the tour, as you can't visit the living quarters on your own. Before or after your tour you can also visit the small permanent and temporary exhibitions as well as the garden. The tours seem to be run on a tight schedule since the guide starts the next tour once he is done with yours.
