London by the river Sep 05, 2009
a free thing to do in london is to take a walk along the thames. take the tube to london bridge tube stop, then follow the signs to the riverfront. along the river, you will enjoy views of the iconic london buildings like MI5 headquarters, st paul's cathedral and the gherkin. you will come upon the tate modern, shalespeare's globe, the national theatre, and the london eye (book online to skip queues) too, and there are pleasant places to grab a bit along there. keep going and you will end up at westminster, the famous view of parliament, and the most photographed clock tower in the world - big ben!

good option is to do the reverse , starting out from victoria tube station or westminister tube station, then end up at london bridge tube station which is next to the famous borough market. opened mon-sat for delicious eats!
