The rooms here are large and clean rooms with good views overlooking the city. The mirrors along one wall give a pleasing sense of vast amounts of space.
My only complaint about the rooms was the control panel for the lights. Instead of proper switches there are little clicky press buttons between the headboards of the beds. This is all very well when you are turning the lights off, but a different matter altogether when you are turning them on again. In the dark it is impossible to figure out which little clicky point is a button that will turn on a useful light. A minor point when all things are considered but annoying nonetheless. This place had the best shower of all the hotels we stayed in. This was my favourite thing about this hotel because it had the most amazing water pressure! If you like to blast your skin off, then this is the place to go! |

We all made it out of the airport and met our tour guides who took us in a bus to our hotel, The Beijing Crown Plaza hotel, located in downtown at the center of a very commercial touristy spot.

After getting our bags, we went outside for a taxi to the
hotel. After going outside, a woman in a blue blazer with a name tag
that said “Official Beijing Taxi Service” asked if we needed a taxi. I
said we were going to the Park Plaza Hotel. She quoted 380 Yuan

It has been making vases, etc for over 200 years. We were beat after that and checked back into the Park Plaza hotel. We were so tired we ordered room service and had some of the best food in China (of course we were very hungry).

…After scrubbing away the Trans Sib grime, it was getting late, so rather than venture out, we decided to have a look around the hotel shopping plaza...3 glorious floors of boutiques!
