Talk about relaxing! Playa del Carmen was such a grrrreat {last minute} choice! It's such a nice difference from built-up Cancun. Playa had lots of smaller hotels right on the beach, with plenty do to do and lots of great restuarants within walking distance!

We spent the day on the beach, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful turquoise sea. Basically, that's all we did. We also prepared our trip for tomorrow to go snorkelling on the island of Cozumel.

Playa del Carmen ended up being my base of operations to put a bazillion miles on the little Ford I rented in Cancun.  I drove all over the peninsula looking for well known ruins and far lesser known ones as well.  Sometimes I found a huge crowd, other times there were just a few souls&nb…
