Playa Roca Beach Hotel

Great sea side mini resort that has all the ambiance necessary for a either exciting or tranquil experience. Waves crashing over unforgetable rock formations or wandering down miles of unspoiled beaches. The restaurant/bar has a feeling of being one with the surroundings. Nature is everywhere, including the Juan Venado Wilderness Reserve 5 minutes away.

I stayed there for three months and didn't want to leave. It's just off the beaten path enough to have well traveled guests, and the locals are unspoiled by the tourist traffic. The staff are trained to western standards and they are on top of your needs. The food is good with a large menu. The coffee is always great and hot. They have all the services plus international calls at C$4 per minute and Wi-Fi internet. There is a happy hour from 6:00pm till 7:30pm I really liked at sun set action at most of the travelers came to the bar to enjoy and meet other travelers. It has a great beach with a huge rock out crop that shelters the beach from the current running north. They often book groups up to 40 people from Europe and America volunteers and students. My main thrill was the deep sea fishing, we always caught plenty of, Spanish Mackerel, Wahoo, Dorado, Rooster fish and Red Snapper. averaging around 16 catches in four hours with four lines out.
