Planet Blue Sea Kayak Tours Reviews
Paddling Palau Apr 14, 2012
We booked a 5 days/4 nights self guided tour of the outer Rock Islands of Palau with Planet Blue in April of 2012. It was the trip of a lifetime.
Planet Blue was a very helpful, informative, and friendly company who seemed to go out of their way to insure we had the best trip possible.
Kay, our trip coordinator, met us at our guesthouse and spent a good two hours tailoring our itinerary to our level of fitness, our interests, and answering our many questions. She covered everything including the sights we would see, the places we would be camping, explained the safety measures we should observe, and gave us guidance with what to pack regarding food and water supplies. She gave us several detailed water proof maps and explained how we should use the tides to make our paddling easier.
Planet Blue supplied us with excellent open-top kayaks, all our camping gear including a tent, air mattresses, sheets, tiki torches, a gas stove and other cooking utensils, a solar shower, and water proof bags for our clothes.
We had an amazing time kayaking to secluded, hidden lakes, snorkeling beautiful calm reefs, swimming at Jellyfish Lake, and drift snorkeling popular dive sites such as the German Channel and Big Drop Off. Our nights were spent camping on peaceful, deserted beaches with stunning views of the surrounding Rock Islands.
Although the price is not for one on a budget, I could see how the fees were justified. Our kayaking adventure was one of the most memorable trips I've ever done and indeed worth every penny. I would recommend Planet Blue to anyone considering a visit to Palau. They offer guided day trips for those less inclined to get lost in the wilderness, but I highly recommend the latter option.
