If you're going to Croatia, you have to go to Dubrovnik. Its the most beautiful place to go. I could recommend a route: Split - Brac - Makarska - Dubrovnik (thats what we did. You can put in Hvar between Brac and Makarska if you have enough money. Although actually I can't remember if you can get to Hvar straight from Brac...) It also depends on how long you are planning on staying. Try going to one of the many national parks as well as they are beautiful too.

Oh yes, and we got the bus back up to Split from Dubrovnik. It depends on what you want to see really!

you may be a bit confused, but their lines cover everything..
I went once Split-Dubrovnik by bus, than ferry to the town of Korcula (island of KOrcula), then livly trip by bus from Korcula to the town of Vela Luka (very wide lungomare, very peacful), then ferry to the town of Hvar (island of Hvar), then Jelsa (island of Hvar) where you can catch one of the local travel boats that go to the town of Bol (the island of Brac)with very beautiful Zlatni rat beach, and then by bus to Supetar (Brac) which is on a opposite ferry line from Split :)
It is worh visiting other places on Hvar and Brac, and you have local bus lines..
Bus ticket, one way, Split-Dubrovnik is 100HRK (13,5 euros)with Promet Makarska liner..All other lines are cca 30kn (5 euros)...

Late last summer, after turning 29, the prospect of soon hitting the milestone age of 30 made me think about all the things I wanted to do but hadn't done. Travel-wise, 2 leaped to mind: 1) see the Grand Canyon and 2) go back to Europe. I saw the Gr…place to visit, just as Prague became a hot destination in the 90's. The other place Dubrovnik reminded me of was New Orleans. My guide said how much the residents love visitors because their major industries are tourism and maritime and that they really… Italy, Croatia, Turkey, Greece, and the Albanian Coast!
