Place to put a tent safely (Free)

Stockholm, as you may well know or if you are visiting will find out, is a city of great expense. For those of us who are traveling around europe on a shoestring who intend to add Scandanavia onto their itinerary this area of europe most certainly hits us in the pocket.

For this we have to make a few cuts to preserve our funds and oneway of doing this is by pitching a tent free of charge. Upon arrival to Stockholm and a short journey on the metro taken from T-Centralen to Universitet (large university site) on the red line we were introduced to a mass of open space ideal to pitch your tent. If you intend to take this option its important you take a bit of time to pick a good spot as after arriving at T-Centralen and taking a walk around we stumbled upon a great lake with some beautiful views away from the hustle and bustle of stockholm centre.

You also have the advantage of mixing with a multitude of nationalities whom study and the university and they will be able to tip you off on where the students go for a night out, which I assure is a lot cheaper than paying in excess of 11 pounds stirling for 2 beers in a bar in Stockholm.
