Excellent Hotel May 26, 2014
We stayed at the PLR for 12 days at the end of June. The hotel is located right in the middle of downtown and is an easy walk to all amenities and attractions near the downtown area like the forks.
The hotel itself is in the process of conversion into a condo building , at least that's what we were told, would be sad if it is, as it is a great place to stay.
The rooms are spacious, we got a 1 bedroom suite which comes with a living/dining area and an open kitchen which is extremely well equipped. It is extremely comfortable to live in and done up tastefully. The bed was really nice and comfortable, a couch in the living made it a nice to relax after a long day. The kitchen was also equipped with a fridge, a microwave oven, a cooking range and coffee machine.
There are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood, try "The Keg" which is within a few meters of the hotel, it serves amazing steaks or a place called "Steak on the York" which is attached to the hotel. Both places are upscale, there is also a nice Indian restaurant called "Dhoom" or something right behind the hotel, walk around and you will find plenty of places to eat nearby to fulfill your taste.
For groceries there is a convenient store in the corner or if you walk behind the hotel there is "city place" where boston pizza is located , there are a few eating joints and a supermart /pharmacy inside. It is hard to see from outside but if you find boston pizza just walk into that building and you will find all you need inside.
The hotel itself has a restaurant on the ground floor which serves extremely good food at a reasonable cost. The staff in the restaurant are extremely pleasant and nice. We met three of them while we were there, an older gentle man and a lady(don't remember their names) and a young man, all of them took care of us really well. Eating there was a pleasant experience, although the restaurant did not seem very busy, but was full for breakfast.
The other staff were very pleasant and would like to thank in particular-Taruna at the front desk for going above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable, she was so helpful and treated us like family. We would like to thank the other front desk staff too who were more that helpful which made it an extremely pleasant stay.
As the hotel is located downtown(although we did not see any need for this) , the hotel has 24 hour security and all the guards that we came across had smiling faces and helped us get to the car park when we needed, also with our bags when we came back handful with shopping.
PLR- you have great staff and you should be proud of them!
The hotel offers parking but you have to pay for it, although we think this should be included free for guests.
There are two TV's, one in the living and one in the bedroom with a wide array of channels to keep you entertained.
All in all this is a great hotel to stay, especially if you are going to stay for long as it offers you all the comforts of home, is nicely furnished and provides you will all the amenities (including a fitness center and laundry!)
I would love to stay there again for the comfort and the great staff who do their job extremely well!!
Thanks for a comfortable, worry free stay!!
Room Tip: Get a room on the higher floors facing the forks for a better view, although this really does not ma...
