Great Italian Food & Service. Local's Favorite. Oct 21, 2010
Found Pizanos trekkin' to the Taos Ski Valley and some great hiking. Clean interior and hot delicious food!! Very reasonable prices. Comfortable decor and hip satellite music. Their menu variety is unbelievable. Some really unique dishes. Check it out online. I highly recommend this place. Voted Best Pizza in Taos 2010. A sweet find.

This restuarant was voted one of the best in Taos County in Northern New Mexico and for good reason! Pizanos is located on the north side of Taos, NM on the way up to the Taos Ski Valley.

After a long day of skiing, we headed back into town, starving. Our bus driver suggested Pizanos and at first glance it seems like an typical adobe restaurant, nothing special, but take a step inside and you'll be suprised by the explosions of color. The walls are painted lime greens, oranges, blues, and reds and the decorations includes everything from local Native American artists to art deco pieces brought from New York.

Pizanos was founded by two friends who Utica, NY who decided to put a Toas twist on a New York Pizza.

A relatively small restaurant seating only about 30 people, making it cozy and private. Being in a rather solitary place, there's nothing blocking you from seeing the beautiful mountains from the patio. Freezing weather and 3 feet of snow didn't stop us from eating our tunnels on that very patio but I assume its nicer to sit and eat on the patio in the middle of the year when the weather is warmer than 32 degrees.

Besides pizza, Pizanos also has salads, "tunnels" (warm sandwiches made on a homemade roll), deli sandwiches, pasta entres, lots of delecious and unique appetizers.
