Pitt Rivers Museum Oct 06, 2009
Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford has an astonishing range of things to see from all over the world. The collections are so vast and varied, with cultures being represented through their interesting displays.

My trip to the museum was as part of my art course in high school, it was useful for my research for my project, but I also found interest in many of the other things I saw.

I'd highly recommend a visit to the Pitt Rivers Museum as it's a fun, yet educational place to visit. With so much to see you could spend hours viewing the wonderful collections. There really is something for everyone at Pitt Rivers museum.

Interesting Collection of Just About Everything Jul 06, 2008
When you first step into this museum, you may feel a bit like you're stepping into a warehouse or a fleamarket full of row after row of STUFF. But upon closer inspection, it is one of the most brilliant collections of artifacts from around the world. Very educational but in a good way. ;) They have a little bit of everything that gives you a nice glimpse into cultures from around the world, including clothing, toys, body modifaction tools, and burial coffins, among many other things. Well worth a visit and good for kids too I would say. Plus, you enter through the Natural History Museum where they have a lot of displays on animals and some dino skeletons which was always fun to see!

Oh, btw, this is going to be closed until Spring 09. :( Sorry to get your hopes up!

What an interesting place. The museum houses both natural exibits like dinosaurs and rocks. The interesting part is in the back of the museum. There are all types of odd exibits from shrunken heads to a witch in a bottle. There are totum poles and minatures. This exibit apparently was at one time a personal collection and was later donated. In from of the Museum there is a grassy area where there are Large dinosaur foot prints leading up to the museum. This is a place where you could spend the whole day due to the amount items to check out. The kids in our tour seemed to enjoy the museum with the large display of Dinosaurs.
