Piskuo Restaurant Cusco Reviews
Good food in Plaza de Armas (Cusco) Apr 14, 2010
We checked our Lonely Planet and we didn’t find any restaurants in the area. We looked for one restaurant listed in the guide but it was not there any more. So we walked around Plaza de Armas and we found this trendy restaurant! You will see at the entrance a big sign with its name. When you get in the building you have to go up to the second floor. They have a bar and also a restaurant with a very modern decoration.
At the entrance they welcome you and they give you a small introduction of it. There is a fancy bar on the left and a restaurant on the right. They even have a small terrace with 3 or 4 tables. If you continue to the third floor, then you find a new bar and a huge terrace outdoors. Check out the photos!
Dinner was better than our expectations. For starters we had some alpaca sticks and for mains we had a soup and some prawns. Gino Pacheco is the sommelier and he recommended us a wine from the South of Lima. It was dark red, quite intense and rich flavors. Contrary to most of South American wines, its gradation was quite low, from 11 to 12 degrees. For desserts we asked them to surprise us, and they did!
I don’t normally speak about the service but in this case it was a highlight. Everyone in the restaurant was very informative, pleasant and made us feel very comfortable. The waiter and the sommelier were remarkable.
The whole bill came up to be around 200 soles (52,64€) Food was inexpensive, but we ordered a very good wine (25€)….
