Pink Taco Los Angeles Reviews
Jan 26, 2008
mall food does not get schnazzier than this.
pink taco, a very vulgar name for you-know-what is popular because of who owns it --- some reality tv star/celebrity/son of a rich dude.
this particular pink taco is located in a neighborhood of los angeles called century city. in it is a mall formerly known as century city mall, but, like everything, it seems, is now called westfield mall.
that being said, the space is fantabulous. there are indoor and outdoor sitting areas. outdoor sitting areas, of course, given that this is la la land, and we are afraid of 69F weather, there are heat lamps strategically placed outside. indoors, there are tv's everywhere to watch whatever and a large bar area to sit if you just felt like it.
on to the food:
1. the chips came out and they were below average. they were the thick kind that came out cold... although d says that they were warm when they first came out. needless to say, when i first bit into one, it was cold. the pico de gallo was not anything to write home about either.
2. i had the fish tacos, which came with 3 tacos. the fish (tilapia) was fried. the meal came out cold. and the fish was a bit hard. i didn't like that.
3. i tried d's pork tacos, which came in threes as well. now, i am a swine lover. and i have had a lot of pork tacos, aka carnitas. this was definitely below average. the chunks of meat were more like strips of meat and the flavor was not to be desired. don't get me wrong, it's not that it was putrid, it was just well below the good swine that i have had.
on to the drinks. now, this was a different story.
i enjoyed the pink taco margarita. it was basically like pink lemonade with tequila (i think cuervo). loved it!
i also enjoyed the rico suave margarita. i swear, that was what they called it. our buddy b decided he was more high falutin' and wanted something with patron tequila. this type of margarita was made with patron (no need to specially request it). it also had pineapple juice. pretty yummy.
the verdict: come here for drinks in the outdoor patio -- day or night. get pitchers of margaritas, it is worth it. enjoy your drinks and the time you have with friends. and enjoy lala weather... even when it's storming.
