French cuisine in the Boston theater district Nov 08, 2012
We were in on a Monday, which is apparently a new thing for Pigalle to be open on a Monday, so we had the place to ourselves minus one quiet party, which was great. Our server was polite and made recommendations, but wasn't very attentive as we had to wave him down twice to place orders (maybe not on his game, because it was so slow).

We started with two appetizers: A half dozen oysters, which were shucked well and had a good sweet taste, except for one that we decided not to eat, as it didn’t look right. We also had the clams casino, which had a quality bread crumb topping and good clam meat.

Our meals were very good; PIGALLE’S CASSOULET: braised lamb shank, duck leg confit, house made garlic pork sausage & great northern white beans. It was so full of flavor I was a disappointed when it was gone. The portion was satisfying, but not to the point of being “too much”. We also ordered the Smoked Trout Risotto, tasty, filling, but not heavy.
