Chocolate Shop Mar 29, 2011
If you go into (Galeries Lafayette Espace Soulieres 40 Haussmann st) go down to the first floor and find Pierre Herme's chocolate shop. It stunningly colourful and friendly which is a contrast to most top end chocolatiers. While it is a small selection as a chocolatier he is know for his experimental flavours. Enjoy the wonderful display of colourful macaroons. And if your around on the 20th of march its macaroon day so there free ones flying about or money from them goes to a different charity every year. Enjoy!

Chocolate Straight From Heaven Sep 06, 2009
I had found what is perhaps the best and worst possible thing for me in the New York Times. It was a guide to chocolate in Paris.

Pierre Herme was the place I most wanted to visit, specifically because I had seen online something called the Carrement Chocolat.

I don't know what Carrement Chocolat means, but my interpretation of it is, "Cory's fantasy". This was so ridiculously good that I had to be sure to stay away from Pierre Herme the rest of my time there otherwise I'd have ended up spending my life savings on chocolate. It's hard to describe how good this was. As to what's in it, its descriptions says that it's a layer of tender chocolate cake, rich chocolate cream, chocolate mousse and chocolate crisp, thin wafers of crisp chocolate. Yeah, really good.

I also picked up a few macarons while in the store. They have a nice variety of flavors, so I grabbed a few. I was really surprised by my enjoyment of the macarons, but the star of that place to me will always be the Carrement Chocolat.
