Pie in the Sky Berkeley Reviews
Mar 19, 2006
You'd think with all the pizza places in Berkeley there wouldn't be a market for
another one, but I'm glad Pie in the Sky exists. When you step into the tiny
pizzeria, you'll feel like you've stepped onto the set of some fictitious
suburban sitcom from the 50's. The entire place is spotless, everything has a
cozy, homemade feel, and the proprietor of the shop welcomes you in like you
are some starving, long lost cousin.
The pizza itself is good, but I wouldn't say it's fantastic. I had two slices
of the pepperoni, and the crust was a lot thinner and soggier than I would have
liked. For pepperoni, I personally prefer the slice from Arinell's, which is
right down the street. However, I didn't get a chance to try out the gourmet
style "Sky Pie", a concoction of cheese, eggplant, walnut, and tomato
that is supposedly this place's specialty. Due to the friendly ambience of this
place, I will probably come back again just to try it out.
