Pictograph Cave State Park Billings Reviews
A Nice Stop For Some Sight-Seeing Feb 10, 2015
Free for Montana residents, and affordable for visitors (around $8USD I believe), it's a fun little spot to do some sight seeing in Billings Montana.
Inside the main office building is where you pay and there are pictures on the wall of what can be found in the caves. Also, along with some information are tools and items found from inside the caves.
Washrooms are clean inside the building; however, if the main office is closed there is a rather well maintained outhouse outside for usage as well.
The tourist guide was helpful and informative, there's a bit of a gift shop for those wanting to take from this site a souvenir.
There are paths made for people to follow up to the caves and it is particularly frowned upon to deviate from them. They are not paved, instead they are made with gravel (small stony paths) and the walkways are steep.
Overall, the view of the rock cliffs is impressive, the history is interesting and it would be a great place to take the kids for some fascinating facts and pictures!
Pictograph cave itself was closed on my visit due to large rock falls, but other caves were available for viewing.
