A tucked away Italian restaurant Jun 23, 2011
Piccolino is a small chain of restaurants dotted around England specialising in Italian cuisine. The one in Bristol is situated nicely within Quakers Friars, an area which has expensive shops and restaurants.

This place has some really nice food and an extensive wine list. They have a good selection of steaks and also serve dishes which include lobster. As you are paying for a higher end restaurant the prices tend to be more expensive too. For a main here you are looking at around £10 up to £22+ for steak dishes. There are set menus for three courses but they start from £25 too.

The restaurant is set over two floors with the first floor containing quite a few tables and a separate bar. If you get there when it's busy you'll be told to wait in the bar until one of the tables is ready. There is also a smaller upper floor area to eat too.

The dining area on the ground floor is quite dimly lit at night. I think this is to get the full effect of the candles on the tables, which I think is quite a nice touch.

All in all, this is well situated restaurant, that does good food, and has good service. I'd recommend this restaurant!
