We have just come back from a mini break in Moscow. Whilst we were there we came across some things that you might need to know :
1) Professional photos in metro stations are not allowed (ie can't use flashes, tripods etc). It is also stated on their Moscow Metro webpage. 2) Tripods were not allowed in Red Square or St Basil's Cathedral. My hubby was stopped a few times on different days and asked not to use it. 3) Also can't use tripods in The Kremlin. We don't know the reasons behind this but felt it's a good thing to know to save the keen photographers from lugging their tripod around everywhere. Part of the Moscow travel blog |

Photography is STRICTLY forbidden, so I only took 3 or 4
pictures. Judging from what I see on the Internet, so have plenty of other
people.
Getting
around is VERY difficult. The city is crowded and chaotic. I am traveling solo
again - no group - and doing… Holy Cow! It's Moscow! |

St Basil’s Cathedral is also a photographers field day and the photography speaks for itself. I was like a fat kid in a cake shop, a pig in shit, a monkey with a banana, a russian with a vodka.... ie, i was very happy...
My only real complaint of Moscow was it’s shear size… The Red Square is neither red nor square... |
