Pho 2000 Ho Chi Minh City Reviews
Pho 2000 - 12 years on and still good "pho" the president? Apr 10, 2012
This review is of the Pho 2000 Outlet at the Ben Thanh Market. The very one where Ex-president of the United States of Amrika dined at :)
Over the years, i've mostly popped in to the outlet for a quick meal, and not so much for its (once) Superb quality, which sadly (and perhaps to be expected) has waned over the years. My 1st trip there was in 2001, when the hype was still huge, and the pictures of Commander-in-Chief Clinton proudly hung on their walls were not yet faded.
Their Beef Pho soup IS something worth trying still, and if you don't mind a diminished sized Chicken Leg / Thigh Portion which now accompanies your Rice in their "Chicken Rice Special" dish, it's worth checking out.
Their drinks like the "Sinh To" (sorta like Fruit smoothies, with V Fresh fruit) are a great draw, and sometimes their young Coconuts are also quite refreshing on a hot day. (theirs fare generally better than the Street Shop JUST outside)
Definitely worth a try, at least one, or maybe just twice- if u wanna say u've dined @ the same place good ol' Bill from Arkansas has ! :)

Pho 2000 is a fast food Pho outlet, found across Ho Chi Minh City. I sincerely wish they would open outlets in the UK! Pho is noodle soup, and there are several kinds available here, along with a small selection of other food and some Western style grub as well. The service in the one we went to is good, the food is excellent, and it is quite cheap. The atmosphere and décor reflects that it is a fast food place – so it isn’t like going to a posh restaurant by any means – but it is clean (we watched the rather bored worker give the place an extra zapping with an electronic fly zapping zapper, which was quite entertaining!) and pleasant.
Pho 2000 is a great place to grab some Pho and is also open at times when a lot of the other restaurants are closed, like late afternoon but before dinner time. This makes it useful if your body clock is still confused by travel or by late night drinking. I would definitely go back.
The guide books say that Bill Clinton ate in one of the Pho 2000s on his historic trip to Vietnam. I don't know if this is an attraction or not, but as it's the equivalent of taking the Queen to a branch of Wendy's probably tells you how much better the fast food is here than at home!
