So, it's day 50 today. I've been gone from Enfield, London, UK, Europe for 50 days and I still don't miss it in the slightest. In fact, I hate it more than I used to. Prices, attitudes, and landscapes are all crap. There's loads of official minitry building here in Phnom Penh that are like temples,…

In a perfect world with no flight cancellations or delays, and where someone could hop from plane to plane within 15 minutes, how many countries can a person visit in the shortest possible time? Here's one possibility using July 2006 timetables.

i've finally managed to escape the oh-so-fascinating world of hedge fund finance, and am now decadently indulging my long-suppressed wanderlust with 15 months on the road and around the world... *note: apart from the odd review (generally of something not found in your standard guide book), this is really more just a map of my travels than a proper blog, but if you want more information on anywhere i`ve been or what i`ve been up to, send me a message and i`ll see if i can rustle something up.

“When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don’t know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in.” D.H.Lawrence. My 4 months nomad.

Phnom Penh holds contradictions like none other. Dust flies everywhere due to a lack of paved roads. If you are on one of the few main roads you may have the privilege of tarmac but dodging the landmine of potholes is next to impossible. Few intersections have lights and stop sign are non-existent.…

We were definately ready to leave Battambang by the time we got on the bus to Phnom Pehn. We set off early in the morning, and after changing buses because our air con broke we were on our way. Okay so after finally getting in touch with Mummy bear, Daddy bear and Gran I flitted back to a nearby cafe for a nice hot drink while Lindsay was back on the beer, we sat there for what seemed like ages watching the world go by on Saigon's "Khao San Road" before finally calling it a night just bef…
