Phillips Seafood Atlantic City Reviews
Good food, good wine Mar 13, 2011
Phillips Seafood is prominently located at a busy corner on the 2nd floor of Pier Shops at Caesar's. The big crab display under the restaurant's logo is hard to miss. This isn't a place for a quiet evening dinner. There are people walking around carrying their shopping bags, and the restaurant was quite bustling when I ate there. In a way, it feels good and lively.
The service was okay, but as the evening went ahead, we had a hard time getting our waiter's attention; the restaurant seems a bit understaffed. The evenings usually are crowded.
We ordered cocktail shrimp and oysters for our appetizers. They were delicious, but we expected more for the price of 15USD each. The quantity was a bit disappointing.
The Maine lobster entrée was quite nice. This was my first dinner where the cutlery wasn't silverware; it was pliers! Phillips has a good collection of red wines too.
Phillips is worth trying once. The food was quite good overall, but you can't help but feel that you were overcharged. There are other restaurants in Atlantic City where you could get similar seafood quality at a lower price.
