Philadelphia to New York
Philadelphia to New York Reviews

If you wanna go from Philly to New York: take the subway to 30th Street station, buy a ticket to New York from the NJ Transit machine (go left when you enter the station and make sure to have exact change, cos something the machines won't accept anything else but exact change). You'll get two tickets: one to Trenton and one from Trenton to NY. Be ready to run though when you get to Trenton, cos the trains to NY leave almost immediately after the train from Philly gets in. From there it's a pretty smooth ride to NY.
Pros: price: $12.5 (fixed fare) one way (compared to $43 on Amtrak (cheapest fare)
Cons: time: it takes 2.5 hours (compared to 1.5 hours on Amtrak)
If you get back to Philly and wanna get off at Suburban: make sure to tell the guy that collects your ticket, you won't have to get off at 30th
