I loves the flowers in the toilet upon arrival. Everything was like that. Sure it costs more that the dives on the other side of the island, but everything was safe, comfortable, clean and friendly.

If someone tells you about the little village behind the resort, it is the path next to the bar and to the right. Its just beyond the tsunami memorial. If you turn left you will go through a little village of worker housing, then some fishing style hut houses, then you will climb a mountain and then you are on the other side of the island. Its quite a hike if you think you are going to get some food. But there is a tiny village of restaurants behind phi phi village and the food is super cheap! You pay american equivalent prices for meals at the resort but the little village is Thai prices and fantastic!

Arriving by speedboat at Phi Phi Island Village it looks like a tropical paradise from the water - the shore is lined with swaying palms, white fluffy sand and crystal blue water.
Part of the hotel is currently under construction so you should request to be placed as far away from the construction as possible.
The infinity pool is huge and almost a complete circle with a swim up bar. There is also a small restaurant at the pool. There are several restaurants on the hotel property, two of which are we The Marlin and the Thai restaurant. The Marlin serves a huge buffet dinner every night, and is well worth trying. At the Thai restaurant, beware of the hot curry.

All in all, a lovely hotel.

…following the coast and is quite easy going, particularly now that it is paved for around half the distance between Holiday Inn and Island Village. There is a nice viewpoint with a little shelter just as you approach Island Village. Then you pass through a small collection of huts where some locals live. Eventually you arrive at the new suspension bridge which takes you into Island Village and a couple… The walk to Tonsai Bay.

We stayed at the Phi Phi Island Village Beach resort and spa. Going in May is a great time as it is technically the low season. The rooms are half price, there are half the crowds but the sun is still shining. The monsoon had not yet arrived when we were… Phi Phi Island
