My all-time Favorite Aug 01, 2008
Phantom of the Opera in New York City (Or any other city) is a phenomenal show, which explains its longstanding popularity and long-term success on Broadway, London, and various other spots around the globe.

The story by Gaston Leroux brought to life by Andrew Lloyd Weber of the disfigured, masked, mysterious man "haunting" the Paris Opera and the love triangle that occurs between the Phantom, Christine, and Raoul is a tremendous story. I often find myself feeling sympathetic toward the Phantom despite his viscous methods.

The production is fantastic, with great portrayal of underground lakes, rooftops, stages, boats, and gargoyles. I could see this show over and over, and have now seen it 4 times.

The present strike – which affects shows such as The Lion King, Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera , Avenue Q and holiday favorite How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which opened the day the madness began – is predicted to cost New York $17 million a day and will likely last through the holiday season, Broadway’s busiest time of the year… Broadway's Dark Tonight
