Peyto Lake Vacation Guide
Peyto Lake is one of many beautiful lakes within the Canadian Rockies. It was named after a trapper called Ebenezer William Peyto,. The lake is located in the Banff National Park and can be easily accessed from Icefields Parkway close to the Bow Summit. It is a very popular sightseeing spot. A short trail leads from the parking lot to a viewing platform which offers spectacular views of the lake, Caldron Peak, Peyto Peak and Mount Jimmy Simpson.
Peyto Lake is glacier fed (Peyto Glacier) and lies an at an altitude of 1860 m. Glacial rock flour provokes the turquoise coloration.

I recently acquired a Gigapan robotic camera platform for making gigantic panoramas of my travels through western Canada. A typical Gigapan can contain several hundred images and it will allow the viewer to zoom in to view the great detail captured by the system on Gigapan.org The largest file I've created so far is. more than 2.04 Gigapixels combined from 405 photos.
