This was a six week trip traveling by bus train and ferry (one donkey may have been involved) through Turkey, Syria, Jordan and Egypt

As the plane begins it descent into Amman, my heart begins to beat faster. The welcoming green lights of the minarets seem to twinkle hello's to me as the jet draws closer to Queen Alia. I can barely contain my excitement as I fidget in my unnaturally small dungeon - yearning to be free after 14 hours of confinement. Longing to step out of the breezeway and smell the dank aroma of the airport that is the portal to my heart and home. At long last, the plane gallops across the runway..

10 days with 45 archeology enthusiasts and two nice guides (a bedouin and a syrian) riding a bus across the two countries. Fascinating places, ruins, people and nature. Good food, but a quarter of our group caught the usual gastroenteric problems. Very nice weather except a sandstorm in Palmyra. We admired the signs of ancient civilizations and Roman Empire, and we were able to experience a Turkish Bath (same as Roman Thermae...) great! highly recommened!

Travelling from Cairo to Venice, through Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Italy.

I've been around the world and I still have many places to visit. But, I hope my pictures will inspire people to go and see some of the things that I have seen.

Definitely, the country with very friendly people.

We awoke the next morning around 5:45am and had an early breakfast.  Then the owner of the hotel actually gave us a ride down to the gates.  After sucking it up and paying the 21 Dinar (30 dollar) entrance fee we took off to the visitor center for a map. They only had one in Italian, but …

Graduating in May I headed to the Caribbean, then to Spain and Denmark, then the southern US, then Greece, followed by Turkey and Cyprus, then Greece again, and finally the central US.

Long weekend away, visiting Mount Nebo, Dead Sea, City of Petra and Amman.

Amazing! Visited some truly awe inspiring places such as Luxor and Petra. Also the people there are so kind and friendly!

Setting off from Hong Kong in Aug 1992, 2 days after turning 22, I traveled China, Mongolia, Russia, Scandinavia, the Baltics, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, returning to Hong Kong in July 1993. Apart from Athens/Cairo, I never set foot on an airplane during this year-long walkabout. Before the days of digital cameras, internet, and mobile phones, this solo adventure was as much a discovery of myself as it was about these 31 countries. Many of them, like me, have long since changed.
