Great art in a beautiful building Feb 27, 2010
The Petit Palais, or the Small Palace, is a really lovely museum which is situated in central Paris. The building was originally intended for the Universal Exhibition in 1900. However, these days, it serves as the city’s museum for fine art.

The building is stunning and features a lovely garden too. The palace has these wonderful columns and a majestic dome. Inside, the exhibitions vary periodically but these are usually very high calibre and feature some very famous artists such as Monet, Cezanne and Rubens. The palace website (see contact details) should have comprehensive listings of the current exhibitions that are on show.

Overall, I really thought the collection of paintings and sculptures was very impressive, and would recommend visiting this place if you are an art lover. It gets overlooked in lieu of the Louvre and D'Orsay, but still has its charms.
