NOT LUXURIOUS AT ALL! Aug 11, 2009
we stayed 4 July to 5 July 2009 on the last night of our honeymoon.
Despite our having a NAVMAN, the place was very hard to find. When we
arrived to settle in, the room was absolutely freezing although we
were told that the heating had been on timer. It was FREEZING! The
room (which was supposed to be LUXURIOUS) did not have central heating
and the only heater in the room was of such a size that it really did
not do the job. We were lent a cheap blower heater by reception which
seem to work for about a little time, but then both small heaters
short-fused the room's power supply. We had dosed a little but the
soon felt the intense freezing cold & could not go back to sleep. So,
in the very early morning, we had to tip-toe around the common areas
to try to locate the fuse box and turn our room's power supply back
on. Before doing this, I had unsuccessfully tried to call on the
maintenance manager but as it was such an hour, got no response. My
husband and I didn't manage to get much sleep at all. I tried to address our concerns with the morning's guest attendant but was brushed off and being one who's not much for direct confrontation, I resolved to just write a review about it when I got the chance. The morning's
buffet breakfast was okay but for a LUXURY B&B was rather
disappointing. For a small B&B room priced at $250 per night in
ARMIDALE (!), THE EXPERIENCE WAS, contrary to the claims of the
guesthouse's website, FAR FROM LUXURIOUS. They also neglected to give
us the "complementary" bottle of wine they promise was part of the
