Slains Castle inspired Bram Stoker's novel, Dracula. It was built in 1597 by the 9th Earl of Erroll after his return to Scotland from exile, being pardoned by James VI for his rebellion. It was remodelled to a gothic style in the 19th century.

Spent five days touring this beautiful part of Scotland.Stayed 2 nights in Peterhead 2 nights in Elgin and 1 night in Aberdeen. The weather and scenery were fantastic.If you like castles,beaches,gardens and countryside, this is the place for you - not much night-life, if that is your thing.
