A Greek restaurant in the upper east side Oct 06, 2010
We decided to try a different Greek restaurant this time, and one consideration was the location, we didn't want to stray too far from the hotel, but then we took a taxi anyway...

Persephone is a modern Greek restaurant, specializing in fish and grilled dishes. The bread was good, and it's always a good sign when a restaurant has hot, fresh breads. We had grilled octopus for appetizers, they were tender and we have had really good experiences with octopus in Greek restaurants so far! We also had some grilled artisanal cheese and they were delicious as well. For dinner my husband and my mom both went for the whole grilled Bronzino fish with asparagus ($27), I ordered the lamb chops with lemon potatoes and mountain greens, m y dad had the braised lamb shank with tomato and orzo. All were super good and tasty. For dessert, the chocolate cake was very good, but we were not sure about the rice pudding, it was thin and watery and not at all what we expected, so we didn't like it too much. But overall, a wonderful experience for all.
