A fun and unique shop. May 31, 2010
This unique shop on the northern edge of Belfast is rather hard to describe. Curiosity shop might do the trick, but they also sell nuts, candy, and whole array of touristy kinds of things. They also have some rather odd, or strange things on display that are not for sale, like a nice large Abatross. They do it all quite well, with a tongue in cheek attitude. And they have a couple of “different” items out front, like the board you stick your head through to show you got cracked at Perry’s. And then there is “Nutzy” the giant squirrel. The poor big wooden bear has had a mishap and is missing part of his knee and paw. I must admit their fudge is very good. Jackie, (jamartin39) here on TravBuddy gave me the good word to stop in here on our road trip and I must say she was spot on. A fun stop!!

Great Roadside Attraction Jun 06, 2009
Perry’s Nut House is one of those classic roadside tourist traps that dot our highways. I have been coming here since I was a kid, and now that I live nearby I shop here to send unique gifts to my friends.

Perry’s has a variety of items, some from local Maine, and some you can pick up just about anywhere; however shopping is not what makes Perry’s great.

Perry’s has history to it, and the many odd items contained within its walls makes it worth a peek. They have a mummy from Egypt that was a lost and found item, a giant stuffed albatross (an over grown seagull), and many other odd items within its yellow walls.

If you are into the roadside America thing, this is one of those types of places.
