Pension Anita Vranov nad Dyji Reviews
Friendly family run pension Aug 29, 2012
Pension Anita is a friendly family run hotel located right aside the Dyji river, underneath Vranov castle and about a km from the center of town. The house used to belong to an Austrian noble woman who used it as her Summer residence.
Even though the town in itself is fairly small, there's a lot to do in the neighborhood: including walking and hiking, cycling, swimming and fishing.
The pension is run by a kind elderly lady named Anita, her husband and a slightly younger lady who also runs the kitchen.
There are twenty something bedrooms, spread over 2 floors. The interior is highly outdated but the rooms are clean and have all the necessary amenities, including free wifi! My bathroom was spacious with a shower and an old-fashioned cabinet around the sink.
The hotel features a bicycle storeage and has an outdoor swimming pool with sitting space and lounge chairs around. Perfect on a hot Summer day!
The restaurant is downstairs (they call it cellar level)next to the reception and kitchen. For dinner we had a lovely buffet with salads, soup, various hot dishes and a lovely dessert. There was also water and Moravian wine at will.
Breakfast is served in the same dining room/restaurant, but as it was a beautiful sunny morning, we could eat at the patio and take the food out.
For breakfast there was a nice selection with everything you could possibily expect: bread, cereal, yoghurt, boiled eggs, cold meats and cheeses and delicious home made apricot jam.
Even though the building is a bit outdated and the place has seen better times, the rooms and public areas are relatively clean and fit with the simplicity of the place.
Seen the low cost, pension Anita offers excellent value for money and the hospitality with which we were welcomed is absolutely priceless!
