Pension Alpenrose
Pension Alpenrose Reviews
Warm, charming, and friendly Mar 24, 2008
Seven of us stayed at the Alpenrose for a week--we shared the top-floor suite. The apartment was nicely furnished and decorated, with a large lounge/dining room, wrap-around balcony with views to the mountain and church, a nicely kitted-out kitchen, and a lovely loft bedroom.
The friendly owner told us every night about the next day's weather. We didn't partake of the breakfast, but it smelled great as we headed out for the slopes. The walk to the bus stop (taking us to the first of the cable cars ascending the mountain), was only about 2 or 3 minutes (maybe 4-5 in skiboots!). We used the sauna and steam room most nights, but sadly it was only open till 6:30 pm whilst we were there. Also handy was a boot and equipment room (with air-blast tubes that dry your boots overnight). In the same builiding is a ski/snowboard rental place (50% discount for guests), where you can buy lift tickets and ski lessons all in one go. The price was very reasonable (180 euro per person for 6 nights) A note about the top-floor suite: there was only one shower room (with two showers, one enclosed and one over the bath), although there is a separate wc (with toilet and sink). There is another room adjacent to the suite, which has its own bathroom--so if you could book both rooms, you'd have 2.5 bathrooms. Also, 2 of the bedrooms (not including the loft), are connected to each other (you must walk through one to reach the other). So if the people in your party want a lot of privacy, they may feel uncomfortable with the openness of the apartment. But there are private rooms elsewhere in the pension-so they can just get those! |
