Along Route 120 is a byway that follows river valleys through scenic and rural Pennsylvania. It is about 100 miles in length, so allow up to 5 hours for the journey. September and October are mating season and a good chance you will hear the bugling of the nearly 600 free roaming majestic elk.

You can find some seriously crazy stuff in Northern Pennsylvania. This was a small trip I took from my grandmother's house near Pittsburgh to our cabin. I do this all the time, I just happened to have a camera with me this time around.

The long ride home.
posted by:
Aug 24, 2006 - Aug 30, 2006
We got up today to head home which is a long drive. Kerry has done this drive by herself several times but God is it monotonous even just once. Of course, it doesn't help that you just had a great time and you have to go back to work 7am sharp the next morning. We decided to take some side trips on the way just to check out some things but didn't really have an easy time of finding anything we wanted to see, lol. We wanted to check out a scrapbook store in a little to...

So amazing..

Well my cousin, Shauna, and I went to Centralia.  There is a really neat section of Route 61 that is closed off because the underground fire made it crack and completely messed it up.  First off, let me give you all some background on Centralia in case you don't know about it.  I think the year was 1962 when someone was burning garbage in a pit and there was a piece of coal sticking out of the ditch (attatched to a vein).  It caught up in flames and then the fire spread th...

Visiting all 50 US State Capitol Buildings!: Harrisburg Travel Photos
posted by:
Jun 08, 1993 - Aug 22, 2006
It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!) Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd.... All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.

A world away in a new home town: York Travel Photos
posted by:
Apr 05, 2008 - Jul 23, 2008
I've had eight years to reflect on how York, PA has changed me. Eight years seems like a lifetime. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, with a gas station and a McDonalds on every other corner. Dominicks, Osco, Piggly Wiggly, Amoco, Thornton... The communities in the 'burbs were judged in size by just how many McDonalds there were. There were bus stops, taxi cabs, train stations... two major airports, and traffic that I can hardly imagine anymore. Everywhere there was a person dotting the end...

To the headquarters
posted by:
Jun 29, 2007 - Jul 28, 2007
Well, we headed out, once again, for the 3 hour trek to PA.  This time Mom, Dad, Dan and I all went.  I learned that I shouldn't drink an entire litre of water before leaving, we had to make a few stops!  We simply dropped off the truck, shook the hand of the owner of the company, and headed back out.  Not very exciting, huh?

Walking Around Jim Thrope.
posted by:
Dec 29, 2007
While visiting my aunt she took us around Jim Thrope. I've been to Jim Thorpe millions of times before but this was my husbands first time there. Plus, I've actually never done anything touristy there. It was a lot of fun and I actually got to see all the building I've been driving by for years up close and personal. It was really a lot of fun.

Lewisburg is home to Bucknell University. Here I have been a perfect scholarly young man, focusing on my studies day in and day out... sorta. I won't bother you with pictures from the halls and parties of my past. Nonetheless, Lewisburg is a lovely town and Bucknell has a gorgeous campus that is worth more than just a glance.
