Attempting to leave.

Well, it was that time of year when Kerry and I (especially me) get antsy about our next vacation and the thought of not going anywhere for a period of time was driving me crazy. We had finally decided that we thought that 7 to 10 days in London sounded like great fun. We even found an amazing deal on a hotel room in London, 9 days for like  400 or 500 dollars. Of course on closer inspection we discovered that there were 9 floors in the hotel room and there ...

Longwood Gardens

I went to this beautiful outdoor garden in July 2005 with my family.  The pictures on the website are only a few of my favorite pictures.   We spent the entire day there.  Expect to be walking everywhere.  Wear comfortable shoes.  The garden is about 30 miles southwest of Philadelphia.  The website for more information is www.longwoodgardens.org

My 100th Hard Rock Cafe Visit: Pittsburgh Travel Photos
posted by:
Apr 26, 2008
Finally it happened I visited my 100th cafe. On April 26th, 2008 in Pittsburgh. There were about 50 people there all waiting for me and I was late, two and a half hours late to be truthful. My travel party hit road construction so as we sat so did everyone else awaiting my arrival. Once we arrived we had a great party thanks to local collectors and the Pittsburgh staff.

Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty: Reading Travel Photos

Ellis Island - the place where millions of immigrants passed through on their way to life in America, including some of my ancestors. The Statue of Liberty - symbol of freedom to many. The statue is indeed impressive in size and crafting for the day in which it was constructed. Helpful links: http://www.nps.gov/stli http://www.circlelinedowntown.com/statue-Ferry.asp

Welcome to Philly!
posted by:
Sep 01, 2007 - Sep 14, 2007
now I could spend more time in this beautiful city. Of course I knew something about American history but not so much. At this time I could learn about it :) It's a very nice city to visit and walking around. You can go to the Information Center and will get all the information you'll probably need. It was so peaceful compared to crazy NYC hehehe. We left Fletwood early and drove to Philly.  First of all we needed to find a parking place for the car. It wasn't easy, but not too difficul...

Pine Grove Furnace State Park
posted by:

Ever since I was a little girl,  my parents would take me camping at one of PA oldest campgrounds.  It has so many historical features there that you can see the shadows of all the people that have been there for as long as it has been used.  The campgrounds are just now in 2008 updating to flush toilets.  For all these years it has had outhouses and only cold mountain water to wash your hands from.  The campsites in the last 15 years started allowing pets to come and...

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania - What Could Be Better?
posted by:
Dec 31, 1930 - Jan 01, 3000
Life is good again!  I finally had the pleasure of visiting the great state of Pennsylvania.  Well, I had before, but my visits consisted of me driving through quickly to get to another state.  Pennsylvania has been around for a long time and deserves more respect than that!  So my choice for Pennsylvania was Bethlehem.  Ah, Bethlehem at Christmastime, what could be better?  Well, probably a lot of things, but I was still pretty stoked. &n...

Kennywood
posted by:
Jul 27, 2007
I was definitely apprehensive the morning of our planned day at Kennywood.  The forecast was calling for rain all day, and the steady downpour with occasional thunder and lightning outside my window did little to soothe my fears.  Our arrival at Kennywood's parking lot with the rain still falling did not help.  (Kennywood has parking for $5 or free; if you get there early enough, the free parking is only a minute or two more of a walk than the paid parking. The rain persisted ...
