And the countdown has begun! Actually, it seems like just yesterday that I was saying, "60 more days til Quito!" Now it's just around the corner! There is so much that needs to get done in the next week though....meetings, writing treatment plans, getting clients re-authorized, meetings, therapy sessions, supervisions, progress notes, and meetings! Asu mare! It's gonna be a crazy week, but it will all be worth it in the end when I can get on that p...

Pittsburgh is largely a city of many neighborhoods, and it can be kind of confusing if you don’t know the area. I am going to attempt here to give a bit of info on the major neighborhoods. I am not going to go into detail about the suburbs (therefore, if the neighborhood isn’t listed, it is probably a suburb).
Strip District: (http://www.neighborsinthestrip.com/) The Strip District is home to many of the specialty foods shops in Pittsburgh, and the Heinz History...

After my loop though New England, I headed back down to Bryn Athyn. The drive back took me straight through New York City, and it was really hard to see the whole where the Twin Towers had been less than two months before. I had loved the Twin Towers, and when I had been there years before I met a few people that worked there; a woman in the cafeteria, a security man... they were both so kind. I always wondered if they still worked there, and if they were there that day...

My husband's first day of "active duty" started today. He's in the Army Reserves, but they were sending him back to Iraq, even though his contract was up two days ago, and he already went once and was deployed for fifteen months that time. We have known about this for a few months now, and he even dropped out of his Masters Program. Well, about two or three hours into day one of duty he got called in to the Colonel's office. He thought he was in trouble, but they discharged him instead! ...

So I left at 7:15AM on Thursday... I had to be back at work at 3PM for a meeting and an interview so hopefully I get a job when I move. I gave myself plenty of time... 8 hours... it should take max 7 hours and a minumum of 6.5 hours!
So I head off, set my GPS and start going with it... it said I should get in around 1:30...that's fabulous...right? Well, the GPS told me to go on route 440...which is what I needed to take the last time I came out, I was stoked because then I...

The Just Ducky Tour starts and ends in Station Square on Pittsburgh's South Side. It's best to call ahead and reserve your seats because these tours fill up fast. It's a great way to see Pittsburgh and to hear about it's history. The fun thing about the tour is that the vehicle, which looks like a boat with wheels, goes on both land and water, so one minute you are cruising down the road, and then they take a turn and you are in the Allegheny River.
The tour starts i...

After having pulled in at my parents' after midnight, Becky, Ken, and I were in no rush to get moving this morning. We arrived on campus just after the parade but in plenty of time before the game that afternoon. Meeting up with several other girls from my freshman hall (Kate, Alysia, Lin), we chatted for a little bit and then headed over to the newly-redesigned Hicks Cafeteria. Three years ago, we shuffled through a buffet style line and shouldered our way between foo...

My flight had departed for PA a little behind schedule, but landed a few minutes early. I reached gate F2 before 6-30pm, but the board showed my 7:00pm flight as delayed until 8:24pm. The US Airways agent at the podium said I would arrive at 9:40 and I hurriedly checked my bus schedule. The last GF of the night would pass Tweed a mere two minutes after my landing! I expressed my frustration, but remained optimistic that the flight might land early and the bus would run...
