Excellent alternative to a motel room Jan 31, 2016
S38°22.715 S142°14.151 unfortunately the old-school Melbourne suburban MET train was already fully booked, but after a first look, the well-equipped cabins were no second choice. Pelican Waters offers nine cabins and a unit.

Our cabin 2 in December 2015 had a large kitchen with oven, microwave, water boiler, iron, ironing board and fridge. Everything you need for a long stay. For all seasons, the split air conditioning unit cools and heats the cabin, all rooms have ceiling fans and the beds have electric blankets. The living room has television with DVD-player. Outside on the veranda stands an electric BBQ. The cabin looks out on alpacas, llamas and deer and is a short five minutes walk from town centre in a peaceful location. The only drawback is the absence of Wi-Fi reception. We paid AUS$150 per night.

The cabin had two rooms for five people to sleep. One bedroom had a double bed and the other a double bed with a single bed above. The beds slept very well. The shower was small but nice. We got the feeling that our host, Julie, did cover everything for our troublesome stay.

Pelican Waters Holiday Park is a beautiful presented farm with Julie as an excellent host. The cabin is a comfortable alternative for a ubiquitous motel room. Very recommended.
