Peguche waterfall Otavalo Reviews
Hidden beauty Oct 19, 2009
At the northern side of Otavalo, the Peguche waterfall is almost hidden in the forrest. From Placa de Ponches you’ll need to hike (some parts up hill) fora bout 45 minutes to an hour and although there are no signs, you’ll never really have to leave the trail.
The waterfall is quite nice, but it's the entire hike to and from the waterfall that is the real attraction. The waterfall is surrounded by beautiful and lush nature, but be carefull of the 'swampy parts', before you’ll know it your shoe is stuck in the mud and you have to continue with an uncomfartable wet shoe and sock (yes, I am speaking from experience…).
With some luck you pass lokal people doing their laundry in the river.
