Pease's Candy Springfield Reviews
Sugar fix in Springfield Apr 12, 2010
Offering homemade chocolates and salted nuts, Pease's Candy store is the place to get your sugar fix in Springfield. Four location around the city, plus the confections are sold at various retail outlets as well.
I went to the downtown location, at 6th Street and Washington, across from the old State Capitol, on my lunchhour to check it out. They have several pre-packaged chocolates, such as Raggedy Ann's (milk chocolate, caramel and pecans), chocolate covered pretzels (milk, dark or white), milk chocolate Lincoln busts, and Lincoln logs (pretzel rods dipped in caramel and milk, dark or white chocolate). This town is certainly crazy about Lincoln.
There is a counter where chocolates can by purchased by the piece or the pound. There is also a large selection of 'no-sugar added' chocolates, and these looked quite tempting as well, especially the peanut butter truffles!
This location is set up so customers can watch the chocolate making process, with a window allowing the view. And, the staff was incredibly friendly, offering guidance to their many chocolate options. Customers were in and out, receiving great service.
