Pink Slip Party and dance Jul 20, 2009

Pearl is a high class music lounge and bar located close to the Tucson Mall on Wetmore. It occupies what was formerly the KEYS a dance and sports bar. Pearl was opened in late May of 2007 and boasts to be the first ever Las Vegas style venue in Tucson, I can agree that it is up to a Las Vegas standard indeed. Two rather large bars on the left side of the main entrance and another on the right both with large lounge areas and at the back a large dance area with top DJs. It does have an oxygen bar, a restaurant, and bar, dance floor with high tech lighting and electronics and lounge. Pearl offers concierge level service including table/lounge reservations, bottle purchase options, and limousine service. It is the only entertainment venue in Tucson combining a high energy dance club with plush, exotic lounge atmospheres.

I attended a “Pink Slip” meet up at the Pearl to render support for those of my SAAC group members who are looking for jobs. The event was organized eternally but one of the co-organizers of the SAAC decided it would be a great idea to get together all those who are:

*Looking for a job?
* Recently available?
* Not available, but a little anxious?
* Know someone in either category?

Great venue for functions, highly recommended for dance, meet-up, dinning and just hanging out. I had a great evening with a friend on an entirely different day from the pink slip event at the east lounge just seating at the bar and having great conversations in which the bar tender was glad to participate. The light music that played over the surround system created such a delicate, romantic yet reassuring atmosphere. The back seating is cloaked in white and black with delicate satin and shimmer that creates a floating sense in the air: quite a delicate description to put into words without sounding out of it.

To enjoy the atmosphere, I recommend you go early if it is a Friday or Saturday: around 7:00 p.m. when the lounge is free of crowds and you can hear to music play and take in the sense created by the shimmer of light against white satin walls and a touch of red and blue to add a touch of colour. This is a great place for just the girls, or partners, couples and just buddies who wish to have a graceful evening. If you stay longer, the music and dance floor opens by 10:00 p.m. and runs into the wee hours of the morning. My friend and I did not dance because he has two left feet, o’ by the way, do not take anyone with you who can not dance or enjoy the music, it is a place to have fun, be happy and make merry (if you know what I mean). The music is great, did I mention that? O yes! and you can dance . . . when the music plays and the company is right. For those who like people watching, it could be a great place to learn a few social tips he-he! just kidding.
