Pays Dogon Reviews
Walking in the 'Pays Dogon' Jun 25, 2011
A real fine experience: walking from little village to the next village in the Pays Dogon.
Things are basic (no electricity, no running water), but comfortable and clean enough.
You can walk as much as you like: most tourist walk around 6-8 km a day.
The scenery is very beautiful, but the culture of the Dogon People is what makes this place so fascinating.
You will need a local guide. A very good English and French (and a little Dutch :-)-speaking guide is Bouba Guindo: http://boubaguidedogon.weebly.com/. He is very kind and takes good care of you. In the evening when it's dark, after diner, he tells the most beautiful stories about the Dogon people.
