Paterson Vacation Guide

Paterson is a city in New Jersey's Passaic Co. and the 3rd largest city in New Jersey with a population of about 150,000 people. Located roughly 20 minutes outside of NYC, Paterson is also a fast-paced hustle.

Initially laid out to be the nation's capital, this city has a rich history. Dubbed as the Silk City for its once pivotal role in the silk industry, the economy of Paterson has since shut down. The fledging economy gave way to the spreading of impoverished areas. While not the consummate of tourism, there are still a few nice sites to see. Paterson boasts a 19th Century Mideval fashioned castle, Hinchcliffe Stadium (the home of the New York Black Yankees), Lou Costello Park, and the Great Falls of the Passaic River (largest water fall on the East coast United States second only to Niagara Falls).

It can be said that Paterson is a historic city with much to see. It can also be sad that Paterson is a dangerous city to visit. The locations of the water falls and foot hills however, combined with the old fashioned architecture are safe places to be and the natural beauty of it all can undeniably be experienced.
