Restaurant Pastoral Jun 10, 2015
I had dinner at Restaurant Pastoral three times on three different trips to Georgia. The visits were in May and September 2014 and in June 2015. I always took a seat on the very nice and cosy outdoor terrace in the pedestrianised Erekle II street, which is lined with restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Different rooms with mixed furnishings and traditional Georgian decorations can be found inside. The toilet is modern and clean.

On offer are dishes from the western Georgian cuisine. During my three visits, I ate beef kebab (8,90 GEL) with Georgian style fried potatoes (5,90 GEL), veal shashlik (13,90 GEL) and pork shashlik (12,90 GEL). I combined the latter two meals with rice with vegetables (7,90 GEL) as side dish. To drink I always opted for the local Mtieli beer (3,70 GEL).

All dishes were good and tasty. Waiters were not overly friendly, but not rude either. Only on my last visit I was charged for the more expensive veal shashlik instead of pork shashlik. The bill was of course only in Georgian, but I usually keep in mind the prices of my orderings. So I complained about it at my waiter, who apologized for his mistake. He gave me the 1 GEL, which I still left him as a tip, although a usual 10 % service charge was already added to the bill.

All in all Restaurant Pastoral is a bit touristy, if something like this exists in Tbilisi. Prices are still reasonable and the outdoor terrace is definitely comfortable and invites for a rest.

Directions: Restaurant Pastoral is located in Tbilisi's old town on the right side of the river Mtkvari. Together with many other restaurants and art galleries it can be found in the pedestrianised Erekle II street, which lies just north of the Sioni Cathedral.

Good advise to others. I generally don't check the bills but when ever I Happened to check I found mistakes. Any way photos are so natural as if tempting dishes are their to savour.

Pastoral Restaurant Mar 24, 2013
We come across this restaurant when searching the restaurant for dinner. The restaurant located at small alley way and no sign at all from the main street. Originally, we only want to check the restaurant which is visible from the main street and when we go into the alley way, it appears the whole street of this alley way full of restaurant and bar. It is just decision where and what kind of food to eat for dinner.

Since this restaurant looks quite big and busier than other restaurant along the street, we choose this place and didn’t expect much of it. The inside dining area is cozy with traditional Georgian décor and warm with heater in place. However, outside dining is quite cold as no heater in there. The service is a bit slow though, the menu is in English but we still don’t understand what it is and have to ask the waiter for explanation.

Surprisingly the food was really good and cheap compare with the hotel restaurant we been too. The wine was good as well and we really enjoy the dining experience in this place.
