Pastafabrikken AS Tromso Reviews
You can find better pizza and pasta elsewhere May 29, 2010
Pastafabrikken (the Pasta Factory) is a restaurant which opened in Tromsø November 2009. Since the restaurant was fairly new and recommended to me, I went there to try it. You enter and you seat yourself. You order and pay for your food and drinks at a counter. They give you a pager which bips when your food is ready. Then you go to a different counter to pick it up.
Pastafabrikken offers Italian food, which is served quickly. The menu consists of pasta in variuos flavours, as well as many varieties of pizza. They also have various small dishes such as bruschetta, salads and antipasti. And of course Dolchi (eg. panacotta, tiramisu and gelato). They have an extencive children's menu as well. The food was not expencive, but the drinks were. A glass of white wine was USD 15,40.
Pastafabrikken advertise that you get fresh pasta straight from the machine. Well, non of the machines were running when I was there! The food was nothing special either. I could not decide between pizza or pasta and was recommended pizza by the staff. I had a tuna pizza. It was a bit dull and the crust was as thin as paper. I also had a taste of a Pasta Diavola (chili marinated chicken). It was rather boring. You can get much better pizza and pasta elsewhere.
If you don´t get a seat along the wall you have to sit on bar stools. Not very comfortable. It is not a typical cozy place where you go at night, but if you are not very sophisticated, don´t expect too much of the food and are very hungry this is a lunch place where you will be served fast.
Would I eat here agian? NO!
