Satisfy your tastebuds with hot sizzling food at Pasar Malam Gadong Jan 17, 2009
If you happen to be in Gadong, and are wondering where to go at night, one of the places that you just HAVE TO VISIT is the Pasar Malam Gadong (Gadong Night Bazaar). To the local, this place is the melting pot of all food -- Fried, Steamed, Braised you name it the place has it. My favourite is Kueh Malaya which is basically malayan style pancake filled with ground peanut, sugar and condensed milk...it's to die for! lol i also like the fried Kue Teow which is flat noodle fried with some sauce and seasoning...something you should not miss when you're there.
I've taken my Singaporean friends here before and they absolutely loved it. The fun thing about this place is, you don't need a thick wallet to take with you, I normally bring around $5 with me and I would be able to buy a few types of dishes and some drinks!
Lines and lines of foodstalls are available in this area, and smoke will start filling the air starting 4pm indicating business has started. The foodstalls will close around 2am (ps- if you are having trouble sleeping due to jetlag, try going to this place to buy some midnight snack :P)
Apart from food, there are also stalls selling clothes, fruits and some odd stuff that you could never see anywhere else
The closest hotels to this area are Rizqun International Hotel and The Centerpoint Hotel...they are only walking distance to the bazaar.
