Cheap price Jun 26, 2011
In Pasar Beringharjo ,

You could buy cheap batik or some cheap food ....

Price of the Indonesian Snack :

Cenil Rp 200,

Made of flour with slices of coconut ...

Putu Rp 600,

And many more ...

For me ...

Cenil is the best ;)

They provided a price list so you dont need to bargain ..

If you want cheaper price ,

Visit on the morning or afternoon ...

THey will give you a better price ...

The inner of the market usually is more cheaper ...

But it depends ...

If you're looking for to see some crowded place! Dec 11, 2008
Pasar is a bahasa word for market. Generally it is used for traditional vegetables and meat market.

Pasar Beringharjo is a retail place for batik (Indonesian pattern for dress) and cloth in Yogyakarta, it also has the wet section for vegetables and meat at the back.

The gate of this market is located at the end of Malioboro Street - the famous street full with vendors and good for walking along.

There are seveal snacks and food vendors in front of the market and once we entered the gate, it's a huge building with cloth seller everywehere, they don't even divide their area by small stalls, they only put some tables and there where the clothes are spread out!.

This market is very busy and the life here starts very early, from 3-am, where the vensors preparing to bring the fresh stuffs and the big buyers come to get the freshest stuff.

My outstanding objective: to come back here in the morning to see their activity before dawn!

Yogyakarta Traditional Marketplace Dec 06, 2008
Pasar Beringharjo (Beringharjo Marketplace) is a famous and the largest traditional market in Yogyakarta, located at the famous Malioboro street. As it is a traditional market, you will find it so crowded and hot (no aircon :D ).

You can find any kind of goods, household items, any souvenirs you need from Yogyakarta and Java with cheap price (IF you are good in bargaining). You will find people offering you things to buy, if you are not interested, just move on to the next stores.

It is a recommended place, again, if you are good in bargaining.
