Paru’s Restaurant

This is a true vegetarian gem. Established in 1979 on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, Paru’s has been a my favorite Indian restaurant since its existence came to my knowledge. The walls are decked with Indian paintings and pictures of Paru’s family, and the lighting is ambient and colorful. With classic South Indian fare, such as Dosas and Thalis, my mouth salivates with the mere thought of this place. The Indian Thali is a great dish for sampling a little bit of everything, while the Super Pancake (also known as Adai) is a hotcake made of lentil and rice flours, served with coconut chutney yummy goodness. My friend Min, who is an expert on Indian food (or at least she claims to be), gives this place 6 thumbs up (don’t ask me exactly how). Check it out, I’m sure you will be overwhelmingly surprised.
